Charlotte Gainsbourg is the epitome of YSL fragrances if you ask me. The child of a music composer and a British socialite-actress, she is a talented actress herself with a nonchalant attitude about her. She also happens to work often with the YSL fashion house.
YSL Perfume House History
Yves Saint Laurent, the founder of the YSL fashion house, began creating perfumes for women in 1964, with the launch of his first fragrance for women called “Y”. This fragrance was followed by the launch of the iconic fragrance “Rive Gauche” in 1971, which was created to embody the independent and unpredictable spirit of the YSL Rive Gauche Prêt-à-Porter fashion line.
In the years that followed, YSL Parfumerie continued to create a range of fragrances for women, including “Opium” in 1977, which became a classic and controversial scent of its time. Other notable fragrances include “Paris” in 1983, “Nu” in 2001, and “Black Opium” in 2014.
Tom Pecheux was appointed as the creative director of YSL Beauty in 2019, and he oversees the development and direction of all of the brand’s makeup and fragrance products.
