As a beauty blogger, I’ve recently had the pleasure of diving into the Violette_FR beauty brand, and I’m excited to share my thoughts with you. Founded by French makeup artist and YouTuber Violette Serrat, this brand promises to bring a touch of Parisian chic to our everyday beauty routines. Let’s break down the different products and see how they measure up.

Who is Violette Serrat?

Violette Serrat is the founder of the French beauty brand Violette_FR, named after her popular YouTube makeup tutorial channel.

Violette was born in April 1984, making her 40 years old this year, as of 2024.

Violette Serrat is a French makeup artist and beauty influencer who has gained significant recognition in the beauty industry.

Professionally, Violette is renowned and has worked with major beauty brands and fashion houses.

She’s particularly well-known for her YouTube channel and Instagram account, where she shares makeup tutorials, beauty tips, and lifestyle content.

Violette has collaborated with several high-profile beauty brands, creating collections or serving as a brand ambassador.

In 2017, she was appointed as Global Beauty Director for Estée Lauder, a significant position in the beauty industry.

In 2021, Violette launched her own beauty brand, Violette_FR, which embodies her French beauty philosophy and aesthetic.

Later that year, she announced she became Guerlain’s Creative Director of Makeup, a prestigious position in France.

She’s known for promoting a natural, effortless approach to beauty that’s often associated with French style.

Violette has a background in art and fashion, which influences her approach to makeup and beauty.

Violette has become a prominent figure in the beauty world, known for her expertise, unique style, and influence in shaping modern beauty trends with a French twist. Her work spans from high-fashion editorials to accessible beauty content for a diverse audience.

Makeup Products

Here are my favorite Violette_FR makeup products.

Petal Bouche Matte: This liquid lipstick is the star of the show for me. The deep, velvety red is quintessentially French, and the formula glides on smoothly without drying out my lips. I love how it stays put throughout the day, even after meals. My only gripe is that I wish it came in more shades.

Yeux Paint: These liquid eyeshadows are a dream to work with. They blend effortlessly and have a beautiful, subtle shimmer that catches the light perfectly. The range of colors is limited but well-curated, focusing on wearable neutrals with a few pops of color. I particularly adore the shade “Ciel,” a stunning sky blue.

Boum-Boum Milk: This 3-in-1 toner, serum, and moisturizer is an interesting concept. I appreciate its multi-tasking nature, which feels very French in its efficiency. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated and prepped for makeup. However, I’m not entirely convinced it can replace all three steps in my skincare routine, especially for those with more specific skin concerns.

Hair & Skincare Products

Frange Puff: This dry shampoo paste is unlike anything I’ve tried before. It’s great for refreshing my bangs between washes and adding some texture to my hair. The subtle scent is lovely, but I find the application can be a bit messy if you’re not careful.

Baume Shine: This clear, multipurpose balm is a handbag essential. I use it on my lips, cheekbones, and even to tame flyaways. It gives a beautiful, dewy finish without feeling sticky. My only wish is that it came larger because I find myself reaching for it constantly.

French Origins

What I love about Violette_FR is how it embodies the effortless, chic aesthetic that French beauty is known for. The products are designed to enhance natural beauty rather than mask it, which aligns perfectly with the French approach to makeup.

The packaging is minimalist and elegant, with a distinct Parisian flair. I appreciate how the brand emphasizes sustainability, using glass containers where possible and minimizing excess packaging.

Overall Review

Likes:

  • The brand’s commitment to clean, vegan formulas
  • The multi-use nature of many products, which simplifies my routine
  • The emphasis on enhancing natural beauty
  • The high-quality, long-lasting formulas

Dislikes:

  • Limited shade ranges in some products
  • Some items feel a bit pricey for the amount of product you get
  • A few products (like the Boum-Boum Milk) don’t quite live up to their multi-tasking claims

Violette_FR has won me over with its approach to beauty. While there’s room for improvement in some areas, the brand successfully brings a touch of French elegance to my daily routine. If you’re looking to simplify your beauty regimen while still achieving that coveted French girl look, Violette_FR is worth exploring.
